Thanks to our exclusive partnership with Les Couleurs® Le Corbusier, heroal now offers an even wider range of colours for windows, doors, façades patio and sliding doors, roller shutters, sun protection and roller garage doors. When it comes to designing buildings, colours are a central consideration. But which colours match and can be combined and what are the effects of individual highlights? Le Corbusier's "Polychromie Architecturale" helps you find the right colour combination. It contains 63 colours from 9 colour groups, which Le Corbusier has made into two colour collections. All of the colours occur in nature, which makes for naturally harmonious combinations.
Why Le Corbusier colours?

Le Corbusier colours create natural harmonies in any imaginable combination. Each of the nine colour groups and every individual shade has a unique effect on one's perception. Le Corbusier once said: "Colour [...] always sparks a powerful impact. Color is an essential part of our existence". For this reason, the selection of colours excludes the possibility of creating a negative impact from the outset. This allows for the greatest possible colour harmony.

The architect Le Corbusier
Le Corbusier is still considered to be one of the most important and influential architects of modern times. He was born Charles-Édouard Jeanneret-Gris on 06.10.1887 in La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland. His pseudonym is a combination of his great-grandmother's name "Lecorbésier" and "corbeau", the French word for raven. In 1917, Le Corbusier moved to France and settled in Paris. Le Corbusier was active in a variety of areas. He not only designed architectural works like the Villa Savoye in Poissy, the Villa Stein-de-Monzie and the Weißenhofsiedlung in Stuttgart, but also worked as an urban planner, furniture designer, painter and photographer. In addition, he published a large number of books such as "Five Points for a Modern Architecture" and developed his colour theory of "architectural polychromy". He died in 1965 at the age of 77 in Cap-Martin.
Architectural polychromy
Interior design was an important part of Le Corbusier's architecture. For him, the colouring of a house had the same importance as the floor plan and the structural design. Based on his experience, Le Corbusier developed an incomparable colour theory: architectural polychromy. Polychromy refers to colouration of buildings, artworks, sculpture, etc. Le Corbusier's chromatic vision is divided into two collections. The 1931 collection includes 43 colours in 14 series. These series consist of solid colours with graded brightness. The second collection followed in 1959 featuring 20 colours that are much stronger and more dynamic. Together, the two collections form the basis of Le Corbusier's chromatic vision. The 63 colours are all colours found in nature that radiate harmony in any combination. The colours of the nine colour groups white, grey & black, blue, green, ochre & yellow, orange, red, ochre & brown and umber offer a tool for skilful, impressive and comprehensive architectural colour concepts.
