Reversible zip screen system for efficient retrofit installation

The heroal VS Z EM (Easy Mount) sun protection system is the clamp-on version of the textile zip screen system heroal VS Z. Installation requires no drill holes and allows residue-free removal if required. Thanks to the integrated solar-powered drive, the system is particularly suitable for refurbishment and retrofit projects – for example in listed buildings, rental properties or existing buildings. Different clamp bracket variants allow installation in almost all common window constructions made of aluminium, PVC or wood.

The heroal VS Z EM can be used up to a width of 2,000 mm, a height of 2,200 mm and an area of 4.4 m² and offers wind resistance up to Beaufort scale 7 (60 km/h). At the same time, the system can be visually adapted to the existing building design. The aluminium components are extruded and finished with heroal’s hwr powder coating. In addition to a wide RAL colour palette, the colours of Les Couleurs^® Le Corbusier^® and the heroal SD surface designs are also available.

More than 250 fabric variants are available in different light transmission levels ranging from semi-transparent to opaque. Depending on the version, solar radiation and UV exposure can therefore be significantly reduced. Optionally, the system is also available with integrated insect screen or pollen protection.

Easy Mount: Installation-oriented system design

When developing the heroal VS Z EM, the focus was placed on installation-friendly design. Fabrication and construction are based on the established heroal VS Z zip screen system but have been specifically optimised for clamp-on applications.

As a result, on-site installation is particularly straightforward: the sun protection unit is clamped into the window frame without the need for special tools and can be installed by both professional installers and end users. Installation is carried out from indoors, eliminating the need for auxiliary equipment such as scaffolding or lifting equipment on upper floors.

The system also eliminates the need for wall penetrations for cables. Equipped with an integrated solar-powered motor, the heroal VS Z EM operates fully autonomously. Should the motor battery ever be fully discharged, it can be recharged via an interface on the inspection cover. Control is via a wall switch or a radio remote control.

Because no modifications to the building structure are required, the system remains reversible and is ideally suited for applications where permanent fixings are not intended or possible – for example rental properties or listed buildings.
